This department is the first and only one in the country specialized in marine energy and ship power plant energy systems. It benefits from an exceptional geographical location, situated near the mountains and the sea, in close proximity to the Taiwan Shipbuilding Corporation's Keelung Shipyard, Keelung Port, the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, Taiwan Power Company's Hsieh-ho Power Plant, and Shenao Power Plant. This proximity allows both faculty and students to engage in internships, observations, research, and industry collaboration projects. The long-term goal of the department's doctoral program is to become a globally recognized hub for marine and ship energy research and education. To achieve this goal, the department established the country's first graduate program in Marine Engineering, based on its professional background. This program aims to nurture advanced research and development talents in the fields of new energy, power machinery, and integrated energy and power systems. It actively engages in research and development of cutting-edge marine energy technologies worldwide. The department's doctoral program cultivates doctorate-level faculty members in marine engineering to address the shortage of expertise in marine technology. This effort aims to provide a more comprehensive pathway for maritime professionals to pursue advanced education and further their careers.。
